Police arrest suspected robbers who killed professor
The Bauchi State Police Command has arrested two suspected armed robbers, who confessed to killing a lecturer at the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, Prof. Mustapha Falaki.The command’s spokesman, Haruna Mohammed, in a statement on Monday, added that a Toyota Hilux was recovered from the suspects. The suspects, according to the statement, are Mohammed Musa, 32, and Jamilu Idris, 33.
Robbers on motorcycle shoot policeman in Lagos
A two-man robbery gang has attacked a man suspected to be carrying a huge amount of money in a polythene bag.The robbers were said to have killed a motorcyclist, while a policeman is feared dead.
It was learnt that the incident occurred on Thursday in the FESTAC area of Lagos.
According to sources, the robbers trailed the man from an unknown destination and accosted him at Apple Junction, where they dispossessed him of the money.

NDLEA arrests pastor, recovers N609m drugs
The Murtala Muhammed International Airport command of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, has apprehended a pastor, Prophet Michael Raji, for drug trafficking. Our correspondent learnt that Raji, a pastor of a white garment church at the Ikotun area of Lagos, was arrested at about 12pm on Monday while he was trying to smuggle 174 kilogrammes of narcotic drugs to South Africa.
The agency said three international passports bearing different names were also recovered from the pastor.

Islamic State has released a video purporting to show the militant group beheading 21 Egyptian Christians kidnapped in Libya.
The video, released this afternoon, shows ISIS fighters dressed head to toe in black, marching the captives, all wearing orange jumpsuits, to a beach. The 21 men can be seen being forced onto their knees before they are beheaded by the militants standing behind them. The extremely graphic video first appeared on the Twitter feed of a website that supports Islamic State.

Pastor, others arrested for child trafficking
The Nigerian Immigration Service, Oyo State Command, on Saturday paraded a pastor, Olufemi Timothy, and four others accused of child trafficking in Ibadan. The command also paraded 12 boys and four girls allegedly being used by the accused persons in a slavery ring. The Controller of the command, Innocent Akatu, said the accused persons were apprehended in various locations in Ibadan, adding that they would be handed over to the National Agency for the Prohibition of Traffic in Persons for legal actions.

Woman left children aged 10 and 13 home alone for THREE WEEKS while she went to Nigeria
A mother left her two children at home without food or heat while she went on a three-week trip abroad. The youngsters one aged 10 and 13, were left to fend for themselves while their mother attended a family wedding in Nigeria. It's understood they had continued to go to school while she was away but when officers visited the home, they found the house was in an unkempt condition while the children had no food or heating.
